Exciting Opportunity for a Buyer at Permanent Futures

Futures, a leading global food manufacturer, is seeking an experienced Buyer to join their team. This is a unique opportunity to shape the company's Procurement strategy and contribute to its growth plans.

The successful candidate will work in the Group Procurement function, overseeing 12+ sites and managing Packaging Purchases with a £20m – £30m spend. The company will invest in the development of this role, equipping the Buyer with the necessary skills for long-term success.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Implement best practice cost optimisation through negotiation of overall best terms
  • Develop strategic plans, budgets, and forecasts to ensure accurate financial forecasting
  • Work closely with business procurement managers to execute implementation plans
  • Ensure documented risk management strategies are in place
  • Conduct market intelligence gathering to inform sourcing decisions
  • Manage key relationships with suppliers and stakeholders
  • Cultivate innovation opportunities from suppliers and engage with business procurement managers
Requirements:
  • Minimum 3 years' experience as a Buyer with experience in Packaging
  • Experience in a food, FMCG, or manufacturing environment
  • Excellent supplier relationship management skills
  • Strong negotiation skills with professional relationship maintenance
  • Able to influence stakeholders at all levels
