About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Procurement Specialist to join our team at the Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply (CIPS). As a key member of our procurement team, you will be responsible for sourcing and purchasing goods and services that meet our business needs.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Collaboration with Sales Team: Work closely with our sales team to understand the specific sourcing requirements for incremental products and services, ensuring a strong understanding of commercial parameters and local market conditions.
  2. Commercial Controls and Parameters: Establish and maintain robust commercial controls and parameters for the purchasing of goods and services, ensuring that we minimize risk and maximize value.
  3. Vendor Management: Ensure that all vendors are properly onboarded and that their performance is regularly evaluated and monitored, with corrective and preventive action plans in place as needed.
  4. Stock and Price Management: Manage stock levels and prices to ensure that we are getting the best value for our business, while also ensuring that we have the necessary inventory to meet customer demand.
  5. Intelligence Sharing: Share relevant vendor product and market intelligence with our centralized procurement team to ensure that we are making informed purchasing decisions.
  6. Negotiation and Contract Management: Develop and implement effective negotiation strategies with vendors to secure the best possible prices, terms, and conditions for our business.
  7. Performance Monitoring: Regularly monitor and evaluate vendor performance, product quality, and delivery conditions to ensure that we are meeting our business objectives.
Requirements
  1. Academic Qualifications: A business-related degree or equivalent qualification, with 2-6 years of relevant experience in procurement or a related field.
  2. Professional Qualifications: Part CIPS qualified or equivalent professional buying qualification/experience.
  3. Commercial Skills: Strong negotiation skills, commercial acumen, and a results-driven approach to procurement.
  4. Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with internal stakeholders and external vendors.
  5. Language Skills: Fluency in English, spoken and written.
