The Willows Medical Practice is seeking a skilled and compassionate GP Nurse to join our team. As a key member of our primary care team, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality patient care and contributing to the overall success of our practice.
Key Responsibilities- Assessment, Screening, and Treatment: Conduct thorough assessments, screenings, and treatment services, providing patients with personalized health education and advice.
- Chronic Disease Management: Provide ongoing care and management for patients with chronic conditions, such as diabetes, asthma, and hypertension.
- Immunisations: Administer a range of vaccinations, including routine, travel, and seasonal vaccines.
- Infection Control: Lead infection control efforts within the practice, implementing protocols to maintain a safe clinical environment.
- Health and Lifestyle Counseling: Offer guidance on healthy lifestyle choices, including smoking cessation, diet, and exercise.
- Cervical Screening: Conduct cervical screenings and provide patients with personalized advice and support.
- General Nursing Duties: Perform a range of general nursing duties, including patient assessments, medication management, and wound care.
- Sexual Health and Contraception: Provide expert advice and services related to contraception and sexual health.
- Health Screenings: Conduct health screenings and provide patients with personalized advice and support.
- Patient Advice: Offer guidance on general health care and minor ailments, escalating to general practitioners when necessary.
- Equipment and Supplies Management: Oversee the maintenance and availability of supplies and equipment in the treatment room and other clinical areas.
- Pathological Specimens: Collect, store, and dispatch pathological specimens, including intravenous blood samples, swabs, and smears.
- Clinical Documentation: Accurately record all consultations, treatments, and patient interactions in the clinical computer system.
- Documentation and Reporting: Complete all necessary documentation related to patient care and practice registration.
- Practice Meetings: Actively participate in practice meetings and contribute to discussions on practice philosophy, strategy, and policy.
- Audits: Conduct monthly audits related to the role to ensure compliance with practice standards and identify areas for improvement.
- Inter-Agency Coordination: Maintain effective communication and collaboration with other healthcare agencies, practice staff, and external disciplines.
- Continued Education: Engage in ongoing professional development by attending relevant courses and study days to enhance clinical skills and knowledge.
