About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated GP Nurse to join our team at The Willows Medical Practice. As a key member of our primary care team, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality patient care and contributing to the overall success of our practice.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assessment and Treatment: Conduct comprehensive assessments, screenings, and treatment services, providing patients with personalized health education and advice.
  • Chronic Disease Management: Provide ongoing care and management for patients with chronic conditions, such as diabetes, asthma, and hypertension.
  • Immunisations and Vaccinations: Administer a range of vaccinations, including routine, travel, and seasonal vaccines.
  • Infection Control: Lead infection control efforts within the practice, implementing protocols to maintain a safe clinical environment.
  • Health Education and Preventative Care: Educate patients on a wide range of health issues, including diet, smoking cessation, and general lifestyle advice to prevent illness and promote wellness.
  • Clinical Administration: Oversee the maintenance and availability of supplies and equipment in the treatment room and other clinical areas.
  • Pathological Specimens: Collect, store, and dispatch pathological specimens, including intravenous blood samples, swabs, and smears.
Requirements
  • Qualifications: Must be a fully qualified Registered Nurse with current registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) or equivalent regulatory body.
  • Clinical Skills and Competence: Experience in general practice or primary care, proficiency in managing chronic conditions, and skilled in administering vaccinations.
  • Administrative and Organizational Skills: Excellent documentation skills, ability to maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, and strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Teamwork and Professionalism: Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team, commitment to ongoing professional development, and adaptability in a fast-paced healthcare setting.
