Role Overview

Objective

The primary aim of this position is to deliver insightful, precise, and impactful reporting and dashboards across the Professional Services (PS) division.

The successful candidate will be expected to work from our designated office a minimum of two days each week.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and implement BI data solutions across PS, focusing on data models, pipelines, reports, Power BI dashboards, and KPI scorecards.
  • Oversee and create complex tabular models, including SQL database development for efficient data storage.
  • Utilize SQL Server Analysis Services (SSAS) for larger data models, incorporating complex DAX as needed.
  • Conduct business analysis and gather requirements from stakeholders to design optimal technical solutions and relay these to the development team.
  • Develop automated, sustainable reporting solutions while identifying enhancements to existing processes to boost efficiency and reduce technical debt.
  • Monitor Power BI security and integrate Row Level Security (RLS) into data models.
  • Create Power BI Gateways, Workspaces, and Apps, ensuring appropriate access controls are in place.
  • Document processes, database models, and architectural plans comprehensively.
  • Integrate multiple data sets into defined, sustainable solutions to provide a 'single source of truth' for the organization.
  • Collaborate with various teams to enhance data literacy and empower them with the necessary tools, reports, and guidance to leverage insights for informed decision-making.

Qualifications

Essential Skills and Experience

  • Extensive experience with MS Power BI and DAX.
  • Proficient in SQL for querying, analysis, and optimization.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Development (Visual Studio) tools for managing database and BI projects.
  • Knowledge of best practices for creating compelling data visualizations and reports.
  • Understanding of industry-standard data warehousing modeling techniques.
  • Experience with ETL processes using diverse data sources.
  • Ability to work autonomously as well as collaboratively within a team.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Comprehension of processes, data, and strategic priorities.
  • Capability to design solutions that fulfill user requirements while adhering to design and ethical standards.
  • Commitment to the successful delivery of products and establishing maintenance protocols.

Professional Qualifications and Education

  • A background in STEM is preferred, though relevant experience is more critical.
  • Power BI certifications are advantageous.
