Financial Controller and HR Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Financial Controller and HR professional to join our team at Less Common Metals. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for providing financial data, cash flow, and budgets to enable efficient and timely reporting, control, and management of all aspects of the business.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee all accounting processes and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory and corporate requirements.
  • Manage the monthly close process and production of financial reports for management and shareholders.
  • Be responsible for managing cash flow of currency accounts, liaising with forex traders, and currency forward contracts.
  • Manage finances of UK & European Grant Funded Projects, planning budgeting/cashflows, and subsequent reporting to Innovate UK & EU platforms.
  • Prepare annual budgets and monthly reforecasts, including working capital and monitoring departmental spend.
  • Liaise with external bodies, including auditors, to ensure timely presentation of statutory accounts.
  • Manage all matters pertaining to Human Resources on the LCM site, in consultation with the Managing Director and Department Managers.
  • Be responsible for payroll, P11ds, ensuring accuracy, proper authorization, and compliance with statutory requirements.
  • Oversee all IT projects and IT-related matters.
  • Be aware of and comply with the Company's Environmental, Health, and Safety Policies.
  • Manage all Company Secretarial matters, including insurances.
Requirements:
  • Head of Finance in a private SME.
  • Comfortable operating as part of the Leadership Team.
  • A recognized accountancy qualification.
  • Experience managing an accounts team.
  • Excellent financial accounting and reporting skills.
  • Can-do attitude.
  • Ability to communicate with all levels of the organization.
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
