Chase & Holland Recruitment Ltd is excited to partner with a highly successful and growing engineering business based in the Chesterfield area to recruit a Commercial Director. This is a crucial role for the organisation to build on outstanding relationships with long-standing clients to promote and expand the company's commercial activity, generating revenues and leading to sustainable growth.

The business is looking for a hands-on and experienced Commercial Director to take control of clients and surrounding support teams to drive business performance and growth. The successful candidate will currently be at Commercial Director, Manager, or Head of Commercial level and be ready to progress.

As the Commercial Director, you will have excellent stakeholder management experience with a proven track record of driving business growth. In return, you'll receive:

Responsibilities:

  • Designing and implementing commercial strategy to meet overall business objectives
  • Proactively seeking out new business opportunities
  • Managing market analysis and research on competitors to drive the company's overall strategic plan
  • Leading on contracts with clients, ensuring commercial viability, and acting as the main point of contact
  • Managing revenue strategies to increase revenue streams for existing and new clients
  • Forecasting, budgeting, and cost management of commercial activities
  • Designing and developing effective measures to optimize revenue streams
  • Building and maintaining robust relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Leading and mentoring the commercial team
  • Identifying and reducing commercial risks

Requirements and skills:

  • Proven experience as a Commercial Director or other relevant role
  • Proven track record of managing large-scale contracts, ideally with framework experience
  • Strong stakeholder management experience and relationship management experience
  • Excellent negotiation and communication skills
  • P&L management, working closely with the Finance Director
  • Experience leading a diverse team
  • Commercial awareness, partnered with a strategic and analytical mindset
