Menzies Distribution Limited is seeking a skilled Finance Analyst to join our dynamic team in Edinburgh. As a key member of our Financial Planning and Reporting team, you will play a crucial role in providing financial support and analysis to our businesses.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Assisting in the management of the reporting and planning cycle, ensuring review meetings and reports are produced to meet deadlines.
  • Supporting regional operations teams with financial modelling and output, as required.
  • Monitoring and developing key departmental processes and procedures.
  • Supporting routine management accounting, KPI, and other regular reporting for the businesses.
  • Building internal customer relationships with close partnering primarily with the Operations teams.
  • Maintaining Excel templates used for reporting, planning, and modelling within the businesses.
  • Proactively supporting the cost savings process, ensuring that all targets are met through regular contact and reporting to the businesses.
  • Continuing to develop the performance reporting analysis, focusing on increased visual output.
  • Completing and reviewing monthly balance sheet reconciliations.

Key qualifications and experience include:

  • Entry-level finance working experience preferred.
  • Ideal qualifications include a relevant finance, business, or accountancy qualification, such as HNC/HND/Uni Degree.
  • The ability to convey complex financial information in a concise, non-technical manner.
  • Previous knowledge of SAP is advantageous but not critical.
  • Good attention to detail and the ability to adapt to changing business requirements.
  • Strong analytical and presentation skills.
  • Well-developed communication and influencing skills, including the ability to challenge inputs.
  • Strong collaboration and stakeholder management skills.
