We are seeking a Senior General Adjuster to enhance our London Operations Claims Department, located in the Maidenhead office. This full-time position will report directly to the Operations Claims Manager.

Key Responsibilities

The ideal candidate will be responsible for investigating, overseeing, and resolving intricate multi-million dollar claims in a fair manner that satisfies both the client and FM Global. This role includes assisting clients with salvage operations, loss mitigation, and subrogation processes.

The Senior General Adjuster will collaborate with the account team on policy clause interpretation, deductible assessments, and insurable value evaluations, while also fostering and maintaining long-term client relationships.

A significant aspect of this role involves supervising other adjusters on their assigned claims, whether within the operation or during catastrophic events, and mentoring junior staff members.

Additionally, the Senior General Adjuster will conduct training sessions for claims adjusters, FM Global personnel, and clients as directed by the Operations Claims Manager.

As part of the FM Global Catastrophe Team, the Senior General Adjuster may be called upon to respond to catastrophic events globally.

Qualifications

  • A degree in a relevant field, preferably engineering.
  • ACII qualifications or equivalent are advantageous.
  • At least 6 years of experience in loss adjustment with a proven track record in managing complex claims.
  • Previous supervisory or mentoring experience is a plus.
  • A valid driver's license and passport are required.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including negotiation and consultation abilities.
  • Strong judgment and timely decision-making capabilities.
  • Self-motivated with effective time and priority management skills.
  • An interest in and comfort with the technical analysis of complex loss scenarios, including understanding financial and operational impacts on the insured.
  • Critical thinking, analytical skills, and a results-oriented mindset with exceptional consensus-building abilities.
  • Willingness to travel as needed.
