Job Title: Senior Credit Controller

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Credit Controller to join our team at Spencers Recruitment. As a Senior Credit Controller, you will be responsible for managing the company's credit control process, ensuring efficient cash flow, and reporting directly to senior management.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee the end-to-end credit control process, ensuring efficient management controls are in place.
  • Manage the credit control process across multiple brands with varying criteria.
  • Identify areas for improvement within the debt collection process.
  • Post and allocate customer payments, process credit card payments, and issue manual credits.
  • Manage monthly direct debit collections, including handling bounced direct debits.
  • Produce client statements, send reminders, and follow up via phone, email, and post to ensure timely payments.
  • Handle more difficult accounts and disputes, setting up negotiation processes to achieve settlements.
  • Provide monthly reports on aged debtors and credit control activity to senior management.
  • Manage write-offs, bad debt provisions, and payment plans to minimise financial risk.
  • Implement and manage a credit-checking process.
Ideal Candidate Profile:
  • At least 2 years of experience in end-to-end credit control and accounts receivable processes.
  • Understanding of legal procedures related to credit control and debt collection.
  • Strong written and verbal communication, particularly in challenging customer negotiations.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritise effectively under pressure.
  • Able to work independently, with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and Word.
  • Upholds the highest standards of confidentiality in handling sensitive financial matters.
