Design Manager Role
About the Company
Omega is a successful engineering business, employee-owned, specializing in special purpose machinery, test rigs, automation, and controls & software specific to each customer's individual requirement, for manufacture, assembly, and test applications typically in automotive, aerospace, and general manufacturing industries.
Job Responsibilities
The Design Manager will be responsible for managing the engineering team, with principal responsibilities covering all management aspects through the entire life cycle of the project. This includes understanding customer specifications, translating and drafting initial conceptual designs and schemes, and working closely with the project manager to ensure timely delivery.
Key Skills and Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have a good understanding of mechanics and design, electrical systems, power systems, fluid power, control and measurement, and software relating to special purpose machines and test rigs. They must have great attention to technical detail, be capable of recognizing technical risks at the quotation stage, and be able to solve them with the design team.
Requirements
