Position Overview:

Change Hospitality is in search of a skilled and proactive Events & Meetings Coordinator to oversee our Meetings & Events division at a prestigious 4-star venue. The ideal candidate will be tasked with the comprehensive management and organization of meetings, conferences, weddings, and various events. You will lead a dedicated team of 4, ensuring that every event reflects the highest standards of service, guest satisfaction, and financial success.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Team Leadership & Development:
  • Inspire, guide, and supervise a team of 4 Events & Meetings Managers, Executives, and Coordinators.
  • Offer training, mentorship, and encouragement to team members, cultivating a positive and efficient work atmosphere.
  • Conduct regular performance evaluations and support initiatives for professional growth.
Event Planning & Execution:
  • Manage the sales, planning, and organization of all meetings and events, ensuring timely delivery, budget adherence, and exceptional quality.
  • Engage with clients to grasp their requirements and customize events to surpass their expectations.
  • Collaborate with the operations team to guarantee flawless event execution.
Client Relations & Sales:
  • Serve as the primary liaison for all meeting and event clients, delivering outstanding customer service from initial inquiry to post-event follow-up.
  • Build and maintain robust relationships with corporate clients, event planners, and other stakeholders.
  • Enhance event bookings and promote additional services.
Budget Management & Reporting:
  • Develop and oversee the Meetings & Events department budget, ensuring financial objectives are achieved.
  • Track event expenses and ensure profitability through effective supplier negotiations and meticulous planning.
  • Provide regular financial and operational updates to the General Manager.
Quality Control & Compliance:
  • Ensure all events align with the hotel's quality benchmarks and adhere to health and safety regulations.
  • Continuously evaluate guest feedback and implement enhancements to improve service quality.
Marketing & Business Development:
  • Partner with the marketing team to promote the venue's meeting and event spaces through various channels.
  • Identify new business prospects and contribute to strategies aimed at attracting new clients.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Demonstrated experience as an Events & Meetings Coordinator or in a similar capacity within the hospitality sector, ideally in a 4-star hotel setting.
  • Strong leadership and team management capabilities with a background in guiding a small team.
  • Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to juggle multiple events concurrently.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities, with a focus on client satisfaction.
  • Solid financial acumen with experience in budget oversight and reporting.
  • Familiarity with event management software and tools.
  • A proactive, solution-oriented mindset with the capacity to perform under pressure.
  • A degree or diploma in Event Management, Hospitality Management, or a related discipline is preferred.
