Your Responsibilities
As a Technical Services Manager, you will:
- Take ownership of projects from inception through to commissioning, ensuring seamless execution and timely delivery.
- Develop pitch-winning strategies and communicate them effectively in client presentations, showcasing your expertise and building strong relationships.
- Collaborate closely with our technical design team to ensure that designs meet project deadlines, are compliant, and accurate.
- Develop a services strategy in the absence of project specifications, ensuring all sub-contractors design to the client's brief and budget.
- Act as the gatekeeper for all project technical services design within Procore, maintaining high standards of quality and consistency.
- Manage building surveys, collating and producing reports and recommendations for existing or new plant/equipment, providing valuable insights to inform decision-making.
- Collaborate closely with the project team during the pre-construction phase, especially with the pre-construction manager, to ensure a smooth transition to the construction phase.
- Provide advice and direction on MEP bids received from sub-contractors, ensuring that the best value is achieved for our clients.
- Schedule and chair all necessary internal MEP meetings, which could range from weekly site meetings to networking with consultants, promoting open communication and collaboration.
- Schedule and chair client meetings, predominantly as MEP workshops with relevant client team members, ensuring that clients are informed and engaged throughout the project.
- Utilise Procore to manage the flow of design information, approving or commenting on MEP design, technical submissions, and finishes, maintaining high standards of quality and consistency.
- Assist the site delivery team with void closures, MEP snagging/inspections, and the prevention of potential site issues, ensuring that projects are delivered on time and within budget.
- Develop and manage commissioning programmes and trackers, and oversee witnessing to building management teams and any external consultants, ensuring that projects are completed to the highest standards.
- Organise and chair client training sessions to familiarise the client team with their new office environment, promoting a smooth transition and ensuring client satisfaction.
Skills & Experience
You will bring to the role:
- Several years of experience within the building services sector, with a strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, and fire alarm systems.
- A broad knowledge and understanding of various systems, including Structured Cabling, Sprinklers, and Audio-Visual, with a mechanical bias.
- An interest in design and a good understanding of the pitch process, with experience in developing pitch-winning strategies.
- Ideally, experience within the office fit-out sector on projects ranging from £5M to £20M, with a strong understanding of the industry's most prestigious awards.
- Recognised qualifications in building services engineering, with a strong understanding of local building services codes of practice, CIBSE guides, and health & safety standards/systems.
- Experience with Microsoft Project and Procore management software, with a strong understanding of project management principles and practices.
- A collaborative approach and the ability to work effectively as part of a team, with a strong understanding of the importance of open communication and collaboration.
