About the Role

Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust is seeking a dynamic and well-rounded Speech and Language Therapist to join our Adult Acute Inpatient Speech and Language Therapy team. As a Specialist Speech and Language Therapist, you will be responsible for providing high-quality care to patients with complex swallowing and communication disorders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform comprehensive communication and swallowing assessments on patients with diverse presentations and complex neurological and psychological conditions.
  • Develop and deliver individualized treatment programs to maximize patients' swallowing and communication function.
  • Work across a range of clinical settings, including Neurosciences, ENT, Oncology, and General Medicine.
  • Be responsible for your own continuing professional and personal development.
  • Hold responsibility for your own caseload and be responsible for a defined area of the service or a particular patient type.

Requirements

  • Significant postgraduate clinical experience, including relevant core areas.
  • Experience of working in multidisciplinary teams, particularly in specific clinical areas.
  • Degree in Speech and Language Therapy or equivalent.
  • Health Professions Council Registration.
  • Registered Member of Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists (desirable).
