Babergh and Mid Suffolk District Council is seeking to appoint an Operations Management Officer to enhance our team.

This role is offered on a full-time, permanent basis, with a competitive salary range of £42,403 to £49,498 per annum.

We are open to considering full-time, part-time, and job share arrangements.


The ideal candidate will embody our values and demonstrate a strong commitment to positively impacting our residents, clients, and communities. You will play a crucial role in ensuring that the Operations Team provides exemplary service.


Based primarily at our operational hub, your responsibilities will include:

  • Planning, leading, organizing, and managing the operations of the grounds, countryside, and street cleansing teams.
  • Utilizing resources effectively to maximize the skills and expertise of the team to achieve project goals.
  • Maintaining high standards across our districts, ensuring they are clean, welcoming, and meet the expectations of the local community, stakeholders, and visitors.
  • Developing and monitoring street cleansing maintenance schedules to ensure quality standards are consistently met.
  • Overseeing vehicle maintenance to ensure all equipment is serviced and compliant.

You should possess relevant vocational experience in an environmental sector, such as cleansing, grounds maintenance, or horticulture.
Additionally, proficiency in Microsoft Office and information technology is essential for optimizing time and resources.

A valid Full UK driving license with C1 +E entitlement is required.
