Key Responsibilities- Workflow Coordination: Manage the daily operations of the workshop, ensuring a smooth workflow and timely completion of all repairs and services.
- Job Allocation: Assign tasks to technicians based on their skills and experience to maximize efficiency and resource utilization.
- Quality Control: Conduct quality checks to ensure all repairs meet company, manufacturer, and industry standards.
- Communication: Act as the liaison between service advisors and technicians, providing customers with accurate updates on the status of their vehicles.
- Health and Safety Compliance: Ensure adherence to health and safety regulations and promote safe working practices within the workshop.
- Inventory Management: Oversee stock levels and assist the parts team in ordering necessary parts and supplies to maintain seamless operations.
- Staff Training and Development: Mentor new staff, identify training needs, and foster a positive, productive work environment.
We are looking for a candidate with a solid understanding of the automotive repair industry, ideally with hands-on experience as an MET, Panel, or Paint Technician in an accident repair setting, coupled with supervisory experience. You will bring:
- A strong technical background with comprehensive knowledge of vehicle systems and repairs.
- Exceptional organizational and leadership skills.
- The ability to work well under pressure and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- A thorough understanding of health and safety regulations and risk assessments.
- Proficiency in using workshop management software and other relevant computer applications.
- A valid full UK driving licence.
