Operations Compliance Manager

Sudbury, Suffolk

Compass Point Recruitment is partnering with a local SME manufacturer to recruit an Operations Compliance Manager to join their growing team. This newly created role is designed to support the Operations Director in developing and delivering the annual Operations Plan, with a focus on compliance, quality standards, and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Collaborate with the Operations Director and wider team to maintain compliance with ISO9001 and ISO14001 standards, including performing audits and delivering relevant training.
  2. Develop and review company policies, procedures, and internal standards to ensure operational excellence.
  3. Implement process improvements to drive productivity and efficiency, leveraging lean manufacturing techniques.
  4. Manage Health & Safety, ensuring all procedures comply with regulatory standards and company policies.
  5. Oversee facilities management, including service contracts, building maintenance, fire safety, and utility management.
  6. Support the implementation of IT systems to streamline operations and improve efficiency.
  7. Ensure compliance with environmental, health, and safety regulations across all departments.
  8. Support the HR function, including job description creation, policy reviews, and maintaining staff records, 1:1s, implementation of PDRs.
  9. Manage fleet and facilities, including liaising with utility companies.
  10. Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles (qualifications desirable).
  11. Strong background in facilities management and Health & Safety compliance.
  12. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate at all business levels.
  13. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and a forward-thinking approach to technology.
