Job Title: Vice President of Risk

EMpower—The Emerging Markets Foundation is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Vice President of Risk to lead our programmatic work, including grant making and capacity building.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Proactively identify potential risks to program success and develop strategies to mitigate them.
  • Lead and manage a global Program Team, ensuring effective implementation of grants and other program activities.
  • Contribute thought leadership to influence the sector and drive more resources to programs by and for young people.
  • Support the production of key metrics to inform program performance, portfolio composition, and funding trends.
Requirements:
  • 15+ years' work experience in international youth development or gender-focused philanthropy, with at least 8 years in a senior management role.
  • Demonstrated strategic analysis, program, and systems thinking skills.
  • Experience in program planning, budget management, and global staff team management.
  • Strong internal and external communication and people skills.
  • Extensive programmatic experience in Africa, Asia, and/or Latin America, and one or more areas related to EMpower's mission.
  • Experience working and partnering with foundations, other funders, and international organizations.
  • Ability to travel internationally up to 12 weeks each year and work flexible hours.
