Job Opportunity: Mental Health Practitioner

An exciting opportunity has arisen for two Band 7 Mental Health Practitioners to join our team in Leicester city and University PCN and City Central PCN.

About the Role

We are seeking experienced clinicians with a proven track record of working with people who have a range of common mental health needs. As a Mental Health Practitioner, you will provide specialist clinical knowledge and interventions to service users in a primary care setting.

You will work closely with the practice team to support service users with common mental health problems, including working with GP's and secondary care services. This is a new and developing team, and you will have opportunities to progress your career with a structured learning journey that will enable you to achieve your long-term goals and work to your strengths.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide mental health triage assessments, signpost, onward referrals, and follow-up appointments to provide short-term interventions.
  • Work autonomously in GP Practices to deliver first access mental health care within the GP practice.
  • Support the implementation of the integrated service design.
  • Collaborate with the practice team to provide specialist clinical knowledge and interventions to service users.
Requirements

We are looking for Registered Mental Health Nurses (RMNs) who may or may not be qualified to prescribe and or support with medication changes. We welcome applications from those who would like to work towards this qualification.
