We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Compliance Officer and Deputy MLRO to join our team at JSS Search. As a key member of our compliance function, you will play a critical role in ensuring the firm's compliance with regulatory requirements and maintaining a strong risk management culture.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive compliance framework, including policies, procedures, and training programs.
  • Provide effective second-line compliance, financial crime, and data protection oversight, ensuring the firm's compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with the Risk Committee to develop and implement audit calendars, ensuring effective internal and external oversight.
  • Engage with third-party auditors and manage audit processes, including the development and implementation of action plans in response to audit findings.
  • Conduct internal reviews against the firm's own policies, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Complete all required regulatory returns and CIFAS returns, as well as attending CIFAS meetings as necessary.
Financial Crime
  • Implement and maintain all financial crimes policies and procedures, ensuring the firm's compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Carry out a second-line role in financial crime, maintaining the firm's financial crime risk assessment tool and producing relevant management information.
  • Investigate Suspicious Activity Reports and report relevant law enforcement bodies as necessary.
  • Maintain knowledge on financial crime legislation and good practice, including attending external training and CIFAS Mortgage Sector Working Party Group meetings.
Data Protection and Security
  • Ensure Data Protection and Security Policies are in place and maintained, including maintaining appropriate registers such as the Register of Processing Activities.
  • Manage borrowers' rights under data protection legislation, including Data Subject Access Requests.
  • Review proposed changes and new IT software from a data protection and security perspective.
  • Liaise with IT to conduct phishing exercises and similar.
Requirements
  • Minimum 3 years proven experience in a compliance role at a mortgage lender.
  • Strong knowledge of PRA & FCA regulation of the mortgage industry, including CBTL.
  • Able to work with minimum supervision.
  • Strong attention to detail and analytical skills.
  • Able to hold their own with senior colleagues.
