About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated Learning Support Assistant to join our team at Primary Schools in Greenwich. As a Learning Support Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) to achieve their full potential.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide individualized support to pupils with SEND, developing and implementing personalized learning plans to meet their unique needs.
  • Collaborate with teachers and other support staff to create a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Assist with lesson planning, preparation, and delivery, ensuring that pupils with SEND are fully engaged and supported.
  • Communicate effectively with parents and guardians, keeping them informed of their child's progress and any concerns.
  • Manage challenging situations and maintain a calm and composed demeanor in the classroom.
Requirements
  • Essential experience working with students with SEND, not limited to school/college settings.
  • A patient, empathetic, and understanding approach to supporting students with diverse needs.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for building positive relationships with students, parents/guardians, and colleagues.
  • Ability to manage challenging situations and maintain composure in a classroom environment.
  • Knowledge of behavior management strategies and techniques.
  • Understanding of relevant legislation and policies related to SEND and safeguarding.
