Lead Coordinator for Neurodevelopmental Services
2 months ago
Are you a seasoned leader eager to take on a pivotal role that positively influences the lives of neurodiverse children, young individuals, and young adults up to 25 years old?
Do you have a vision for enhancing health, social care, and educational frameworks for neurodiverse children and their families?
We are on the lookout for a dedicated and experienced Team Manager.
Barnardo's is seeking a passionate and skilled Team Manager who is committed to elevating the lives of neurodiverse children, young people, young adults, and their families. You will supervise a team of Neurodevelopmental Coordinators and spearhead service development in collaboration with families.
As part of the expanded West Yorkshire Keyworker Service, the establishment and operation of the West Yorkshire Neurodiversity Family Hub will offer early assistance in various regions for neurodiverse children, young people, young adults, and their families within their communities.
In this role, you will guide the development of the West Yorkshire Neurodiversity Family Hub Pilot, collaborating with your team of five Neurodevelopmental Coordinators to provide support and interventions across the designated areas.
You will work alongside a robust management team, which includes four Team Managers, a Statutory Health Lead, and a Programme Manager, to supervise staff and oversee the Pilot's development while engaging with local services and multi-sector partners to deliver a comprehensive support system for children, young people, young adults, and their families.
Our objective is to provide assistance to families throughout their journey, whether prior to, during, or after a neurodevelopmental assessment, helping them navigate the system, encouraging shared decision-making, and facilitating informed choices based on their evolving needs.
Our desired outcome is for individuals and families to feel empowered to make informed decisions and know where to access early support to maintain their emotional well-being and avert crises.
We will:
- Align with the existing Neurodevelopmental Family Navigator services in the region, focusing on effective waiting strategies.
- Implement a Self-referral pathway across the service to empower families and simplify the referral process for professionals.
- Assist parents/carers in referring children, young people, and young adults to the Dynamic Support Register based on identified needs.
- Provide a hybrid approach for both in-person and online family support.
- Conduct group work sessions to enhance opportunities for peer support.
- Offer strengths-based advice, signposting, onward referrals, and crisis de-escalation.
- Collaborate with Place-based Parent Carer Forums.
- Develop peer support groups and networks in partnership with local Parent Carer Forums.
- Where appropriate, provide information on Right to Choose.
As the Team Manager, you will lead our Neurodevelopmental Coordinators who will be:
- Aspiring for every child, young person, young adult, and their families.
- Committed to enabling individuals to achieve their potential and lead fulfilling lives.
- Approachable and non-judgmental.
- Respectful and centered around the individual.
- Compassionate and innovative.
- Honest and transparent in their interactions.
- Excellent facilitators.
- Treating parents/carers as equals.
- Providing peer support to parents and carers.
- Knowledgeable about local services and capable of connecting families to available support.
- Valuing lived experiences and actively listening to parents in need of support, offering empathy and unconditional positive regard.
You will receive quality supervision and opportunities for professional development in this role. You will join a dedicated management team with extensive experience in community engagement and addressing complex needs.
This is an exciting management opportunity that allows you to collaborate with various health trusts, local authorities, and organizations within the Voluntary, Community, and Social Enterprise sector.
As Team Manager, you will share your expertise with the wider team, providing guidance and support to colleagues while working with the Programme Manager, Statutory Health Lead, Team Managers, and Senior Keyworkers to create a service that significantly impacts the lives of neurodiverse children, young people, young adults, and their families. You will be part of a committed team that supports one another through peer supervision and reflective learning sessions.
A valid driver's license and access to a vehicle are essential for this role.
When applying, please highlight your skills, knowledge, and experience relevant to the Person Specification and Job Description.
