Job Summary:

24-7 Recruitment Services is seeking a skilled Yard Operative to join our team in a dynamic and fast-paced environment. As a Yard Operative, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our yard, including the safe and efficient movement of materials, loading and unloading trucks, and maintaining a clean and organized workspace.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate Forklift Safely: Safely and efficiently operate a forklift to move, stack, and organize large bags and other materials within the yard.
  • Loading and Unloading: Load and unload trucks, ensuring that materials are handled with care to prevent damage.
  • Load Security: Secure loads properly to prevent shifting or accidents during transport.
  • Maintenance and Inspection: Perform daily inspections of the forklift to ensure it is in good working condition and report any mechanical issues or needed repairs to the maintenance team immediately.
  • Safety Protocols: Follow all safety guidelines and protocols to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Yard Organization: Keep the yard organized by arranging materials in designated areas and manually moving or adjusting bags and other materials as needed.
  • Team Collaboration: Collaborate with other yard staff to ensure smooth and efficient operations.

Requirements:

  • Forklift Experience: Experienced forklift driver with a valid qualification.
  • Positive Attitude: A positive can-do attitude and a willingness to work on own initiative and within a team.
  • Physical Demands: Ability to work in a physically demanding environment and lift heavy materials as needed.
