We are seeking a skilled Yard Operative to join our team at 24-7 Recruitment Services Ltd. As a Yard Operative, you will be responsible for safely and efficiently operating a forklift to move, stack, and organize large bags and other materials within the yard.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate a forklift to move, stack, and organize large bags and other materials within the yard.
  • Load and unload trucks, ensuring that materials are handled with care to prevent damage.
  • Secure loads properly to prevent shifting or accidents during transport.
  • Perform daily inspections of the forklift to ensure it is in good working condition.
  • Report any mechanical issues or needed repairs to the maintenance team immediately.
  • Follow all safety guidelines and protocols to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Keep the yard organized by arranging materials in designated areas.
  • Manually moving or adjusting bags and other materials.
  • Collaborate with other yard staff to ensure smooth and efficient operations.
Requirements
  • Experienced forklift driver.
  • Valid qualification.
  • A positive can-do attitude.
  • Must be okay with working within the yard as well as operating forklifts.
  • Happy to work on own initiative and within a team.
Working Hours

47 hours per week, Monday to Thursday 7am - 5pm and Friday 7am - 4:30pm, with 1 x 30 min unpaid break and 2 x 15 min paid breaks.

Pay

£12.30 per hour.
