The Role

We are seeking an experienced Head Cook to join our team at Grosvenor Hall in Ashford. As a key member of our kitchen team, you will be responsible for supporting our Catering Manager in ensuring the smooth operation of our kitchen facilities. This is a full-time, permanent position, worked over 5 days a week, including some weekends.

Key Responsibilities
  • Cooking and preparing meals for our guests, using agreed products and portion sizes
  • Following health and safety procedures, including HACCP and equipment maintenance
  • Reporting any equipment issues and arranging for repairs
  • Maintaining our 5-star EHO score
  • Ordering stock and managing inventory
  • Supporting the Kitchen Manager with staff rotas and budgets
  • Creating meal plans and rotas for guests
  • Leading the front-of-house team and providing excellent customer service
  • Managing allergens and communicating with guests about dietary requirements
  • Ensuring all kitchen operations are carried out in line with legal requirements

We are looking for someone with management experience and a passion for food. You will need to be able to work at pace, be quality-focused, and have excellent communication and interpersonal skills. You will also need to be flexible with your working patterns and willing to undertake training and professional development.
