About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Assistant Kitchen Manager to join our team at Kingswood. As a key member of our culinary team, you will be responsible for supporting the Kitchen Manager in ensuring the smooth operation of our kitchen facilities.

As a seasoned professional in the catering industry, you will have a proven track record of managing kitchen teams, maintaining high standards of food quality and safety, and ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the Kitchen Manager in planning and implementing kitchen operations, including menu planning, food preparation, and presentation.
  • Lead and manage a team of cooks and kitchen assistants, providing guidance, training, and development opportunities.
  • Ensure the maintenance of high standards of food quality, safety, and hygiene, adhering to health and safety regulations and company policies.
  • Manage kitchen inventory, including ordering and stock control, to minimize waste and optimize resources.
  • Develop and implement effective rotas for kitchen staff, ensuring adequate coverage and minimizing overtime.
  • Collaborate with the Kitchen Manager to create and implement meal plans, menus, and specials, ensuring variety and appeal to our guests.
  • Provide exceptional customer service, ensuring that all guests receive a warm welcome and high-quality dining experience.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of new ideas and initiatives to improve kitchen operations, efficiency, and customer satisfaction.

  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations and company policies, with the ability to ensure compliance.
  • Intermediate food hygiene certification, with a desire to continue professional development.
  • Flexibility and adaptability, with the ability to work varied shifts, including weekends and bank holidays.
