Position Overview:

Are you a qualified Speech and Language Therapist seeking a fulfilling opportunity? Career Teachers is currently on the lookout for a committed and experienced Band 6 or 7 Speech and Language Therapist to work within a remarkable Specialist School.

This role involves providing support to children with moderate to severe speech, language, and communication needs (SLCN) across various age groups.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Contribute significantly to the school's efforts in addressing the needs of children with SLCN and promoting best practices.
  • Ensure that children are placed in environments conducive to the enhancement of their speech, language, and communication skills throughout the school day.
  • Conduct assessments, develop plans, deliver interventions, and evaluate the support provided to children and young people with diverse speech, language, and communication requirements.
  • Act as a vital collaborator with the school, aligning with its vision for integrated speech and language therapy and fostering functional communication.
  • Assist senior leadership in maintaining effective communication strategies and supportive practices throughout the school, while also aiding in long-term planning for children with SLCN.
  • Provide input into formal assessment processes for children with long-term SLCN or those with an Educational Health Care Plan.
