We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Mechanical Engineer to join our client's nuclear power business as a Structural Integrity Consultant. This is an excellent opportunity to work on innovative solutions across SMR and AMR programmes in the UK.
About the RoleAs a Structural Integrity Consultant, you will be responsible for delivering projects in the nuclear sector, ensuring the structural integrity of complex structures and components. You will work closely with customers throughout the lifecycle of projects, producing high-quality technical reports and delivering work to time, cost, and quality.
Key responsibilities include:
- Interfacing with customers to understand their needs and deliver projects to satisfaction.
- Producing technical reports on the outcome of your work.
- Designing and/or analysing complex structures and components using classical strength of materials and finite element analysis.
- Delivering work to time, cost, and quality.
We are looking for a Chartered Engineer or Scientist with a degree in mechanical engineering or a relevant discipline. You will have industrial experience and be professionally accredited to IEng/CEng or working towards. A sound structural integrity background and experience in delivering projects in the nuclear sector are essential.
Excellent communication skills are required to interact with clients, understand their needs, and support bidding and project delivery.
