Reinsurance Technician Role

About the Role

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join a leading international Lloyds (re)insurance broker, ranked among the top 10 globally for reinsurance. As a Reinsurance Technician, you will collaborate with colleagues in branch offices worldwide, active in over 70 countries.

Key Responsibilities

  • Process and administer proportional treaty accounts, including claims recoveries for XoL contracts.
  • Build trusted relationships with cedants and reinsurers to resolve queries and provide exceptional service.
  • Collaborate with colleagues in London HQ and overseas branch offices to ensure accurate and timely placement and servicing of accounts.
  • Maintain reconciliations of technical accounts and monitor/review technical positions of treaty accounts and premium adjustments.
  • Process and oversee XoL claims/reinstatements from first advice to settlement.
  • Provide proactive credit control on designated accounts and manage collections & payments.
  • Analyse data and create statistical reports to inform business decisions.
  • Ensure compliance with external regulatory frameworks and company procedures.
  • Ensure all digital and paper files are up-to-date and accurate.

Requirements

  • Understanding of the Lloyds/London (re)insurance market.
  • Knowledge of Treaty Technical Processing, particularly proportional treaty accounts, from a broking or carrier perspective.
  • Experience dealing with XL claims and credit control (not essential).
  • Client servicing skills.
  • Accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Team working ethos.
  • Ability to work in an organized way and prioritize workflow.
