Job Title: Fabrication Production Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Fabrication Production Engineer to join our team at South West Recruitment. As a key member of our Operations team, you will be responsible for producing all relevant documentation, routings, procedures, programs, tooling, and equipment to enable the successful manufacture and testing of various valves for the Oil & Gas, Nuclear, and Marine sectors.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Develop and implement efficient manufacturing processes and procedures to meet production targets and quality standards.
  2. Design and develop jigs and fixtures using CAD software to ensure ease of use, consistency of manufacture, and error-proofing.
  3. Collaborate with design engineering to overcome production and testing issues, and provide technical assistance to production team members.
  4. Identify and implement opportunities for process improvements and cost savings, and lead continuous improvement activities.
  5. Develop and maintain manufacturing procedures, and ensure compliance with quality, safety, and maintenance standards.
Requirements:
  1. Qualified to HNC level or actively working towards completion of a similar Mechanical or Production Engineering qualification.
  2. Possess a sound understanding of modern manufacturing methods, including CNC machining and lean manufacturing principles.
  3. Able to design and develop jigs and fixtures using CAD software, and possess excellent organizational and planning skills.
  4. Conversant with Design for manufacture (DFM), Lean Manufacture Value Analysis, and Value Engineering (VAVE), and able to demonstrate a thorough understanding and experience of quality, safety, maintenance, and CNC machining.
