Job Title: Fabrication Production Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Fabrication Production Engineer to join our team at South West Recruitment. As a key member of our Operations team, you will be responsible for producing all relevant documentation, routings, procedures, programs, tooling, and equipment to enable the successful manufacture and testing of various valves for the Oil & Gas, Nuclear, and Marine sectors.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Develop and implement efficient production processes and procedures to meet customer requirements.
  2. Design and develop jigs and fixtures using CAD software to ensure ease of use, consistency of manufacture, and error-proofing.
  3. Collaborate with design engineering to overcome production and testing issues.
  4. Support skilled operators with the production of prototypes and production products.
  5. Ensure updated CNC programs are returned in a timely manner and stored in the correct database location.
  6. Identify waste within manufacturing processes and lead continuous improvement activities.
  7. Review the cost of products and cost of poor quality by reviewing and responding to NCRs as required.
Requirements:
  1. Qualified to HNC level or actively working towards completion of a similar Mechanical or Production Engineering qualification.
  2. Possess a sound understanding of modern manufacturing methods.
  3. Able to design jigs and fixtures using CAD software.
  4. Conversant with Design for manufacture (DFM), Lean Manufacture Value Analysis, and Value Engineering (VAVE).
  5. Flexible with the ability to work to deadlines and the determination to see a job through to a satisfactory conclusion.
