About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Purchase Ledger Clerk to join our team at Reed Accountancy. As a key member of our finance team, you will be responsible for managing the purchase ledger process, ensuring accurate and timely processing of invoices and payments.

Key Responsibilities
  • Posting and coding of high-volume purchase orders
  • Matching, nominal coding, and posting of high-volume purchase ledger invoices
  • Raising queries with relevant team members to ensure efficient issue resolution
  • Ensuring the purchase ledger processing is up-to-date, with daily, weekly, and monthly tasks as required, working towards a 5-month end closure
  • Managing payment dates for supplier invoices to ensure clients have the most up-to-date information for their payment runs and cash flow
  • Regular communication with clients to keep them informed of any supplier or invoice-based issues
  • Managing CIS processing and submissions for subcontractor invoices
  • Constant improvement and development of existing workflows
Requirements
  • Proficiency with Sage 50 - essential
  • Knowledge of Xero - beneficial
  • Experience working in a busy purchase ledger environment
  • Ability to complete the full purchase ledger process confidently and independently
  • Motivated and hardworking individual with a strong sense of responsibility
