This position is based at Culham, Oxfordshire.
As the Lead Commercial Strategist for Professional Services and ICT, you will be instrumental in establishing and guiding a new corporate procurement category team focused on Professional Services and ICT.
The services encompass a comprehensive array of HR, Finance, and ICT service needs.By implementing a category management strategy, you will enhance market understanding and develop requirements to secure optimal solutions and value.
Your efforts will also streamline our category sourcing processes, strengthen supplier partnerships, enhance spend analysis, and mitigate risks.
You will be fully accountable for the strategic direction of each subcategory within this service area, crafting solutions that exemplify best-in-class design based on market capabilities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Formulate and manage all sourcing activities for major expenditure categories and assigned projects, adjusting resources to meet strategic timelines and organizational goals.
- Encourage effective communication and team commitment, fostering strong working relationships at both project and direct reporting levels.
- Develop and execute supply chain strategies to ensure optimal value in procurement, providing leadership and influence to support commercial engagements.
- Resolve conflicts constructively with team members and stakeholders, including high-level government entities.
- Oversee procurement and commercial responsibilities for all projects within assigned categories, ensuring adherence to commercial requirements and regulations.
- Guide the creation, development, and implementation of commercial policies, procedures, and processes, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives and outcomes.
Essential Criteria:
- Fully qualified MCIPS (Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply).
- Experience in category management.
- Degree-level qualification or equivalent experience.
- Proficient in public contract regulations since 2015, with a solid understanding of the Public Procurement Regulations 202.
- Experience at a strategic procurement project and program level, serving as the lead expert for complex procurement and commercial issues, influencing both internal and external stakeholders.
