Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Product Development Engineer to join our team at Hydro International. As a Product Development Engineer, you will be responsible for managing and undertaking research and product development projects, as well as other technical projects assigned by the Group Technical Manager.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct theoretical and desktop research, including developing new product concepts and conducting feasibility studies to verify capability and functionality.
  • Investigate and evaluate existing technologies and undertake assigned project activities from the Product Development Programme.
  • Maintain detailed documentation throughout all phases of the research and development activities, providing update reports and analyzing, interpreting, and disseminating outputs from Product Development activities.
  • Undertake laboratory scale model development and testing, maintenance and calibration of test rigs, instruments, measuring equipment, etc., and maintaining associated records.
  • Prototype work/field testing and verification, validation, and demonstration of products and concepts.
  • Write and present technical reports, posters, conference papers, etc., and through this, disseminate outputs of Product Development activities.
  • Work cross-functionally with other colleagues and teams to develop products.
  • Provide technical support to business units as required.
  • Work in conformance with Company Policies and Procedures.
  • Undertake such other activities as reasonably required by line manager.
  • Be responsible for the Health, Safety, and Environment aspects affecting self, employees, and projects in your control.
  • Apply requirements of the BS EN ISO 9001 as appropriate within the areas of responsibility.

Requirements

  • Degree, HND, or HNC, or any relevant qualification, preferably in the field of Engineering/Civil Engineering.
  • Demonstrate both theoretical knowledge and practical skills required for technical project work, especially in product development and related technologies.
  • Proficiency in laboratory testing procedures, along with the ability to analyze and present data systematically.
  • Adept at working independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment.
