About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated individual to join our team as an Institute Business and Research Manager for the Cardiovascular and Genomics Research Institute (CGRI) at St George's University of London.

Key Responsibilities

  • Drive new initiatives to facilitate research collaborations and foster a research-intensive and business-minded culture to increase income.
  • Assist with promoting the profile of the Institute and working with the Institute Director and Section Heads.
  • Oversee an area of operational administration, including line management responsibilities across the Research Institutes.
  • Participate in a team of managers in Research Operations to provide support across the four research institutes.

Requirements

  • Experience of administrative management in a research/academic setting or business setting.
  • Experience of research project coordination, including monitoring the preparation of and management of funding applications, budgets, and reporting requirements.
  • Knowledge of financial/budgetary management and reporting systems, with ability to interpret and summarise data accurately.
  • Highly developed organisational skills with the ability to work independently, adapt quickly, prioritise tasks, manage conflicting deadlines, and resolve problems.
  • Ability to work, communicate and collaborate with individuals from varying disciplines.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including presentation skills.
