Job Overview

Job Title: Learning Support Assistant

GSL Education is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Learning Support Assistant to join our team. As a Learning Support Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students with Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD) and complex needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support Student Learning: Assist students with their academic and personal needs, providing individualized support to help them achieve their full potential.
  • Collaborate with Teachers: Work closely with teachers to develop and implement personalized learning plans, ensuring students receive the support they need to succeed.
  • Provide Behavioral Support: Offer emotional support and guidance to students, helping them to manage challenging behaviors and develop positive relationships with peers and staff.
  • Contribute to a Positive Learning Environment: Contribute to the creation of a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment, promoting a culture of respect and empathy among students and staff.
Requirements
  • Education and Qualifications: A relevant qualification in education or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with students, teachers, and other staff members.
  • Patience and Empathy: A patient and empathetic approach, with the ability to understand and respond to the diverse needs of students with MLD and complex needs.
  • Flexibility and Adaptability: A flexible and adaptable approach, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
