Role Overview
The NHS South West London Integrated Care Board is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Service User Lead to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in supporting and coordinating the trust's efforts to ensure that service user voices influence and advise the Local Maternity and Neonatal System (LMNS) board.
Key Responsibilities
- Represent service users at system, regional, and national maternity and neonatal meetings, providing independent challenge and scrutiny based on evidence gathered from MNVP Leads, service users, and project professionals.
- Work closely with the trust MNVP Leads to shape and guide engagement with women, birthing people, and families across South West London LMNS.
- Lead the development, coordination, and evaluation of engagement projects and events to ensure that service user voices are heard, particularly focusing on the priority groups identified in the LMNS equality and equity plan and the Three-Year Delivery Plan.
- Coordinate and support Maternity and Neonatal Voices Partnerships (MNVP) Leads across the system, enabling them to share their insights from the provider level to influence system-wide decision-making.
- Further develop existing MNVPs, enhance outreach and engagement efforts, and embed co-production practices.
- Work closely with the LMNS, MNVP Leads, and service users to design, project manage, and deliver MNVP plans that put service user experience and feedback at the centre of all work plans, workstreams, and service improvement.
- Represent the service user perspective at LMNS and Trust meetings, offering constructive challenge to ensure that the service user viewpoint is integral to discussions on quality, safety, and service improvement.
- Analyse, interpret, and present complex qualitative data from various service user feedback sources to provide insight and evidence for improvement.
- Ensure this information is accessible to a wide range of stakeholders.
Requirements
The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of engagement and co-production principles within the context of equity, diversity, and inclusion, and demonstrate experience working with and engaging seldom heard, underserved, vulnerable, and marginalized communities.
The postholder must have a commitment to equality, diversity, and inclusion, as well as addressing health inequalities in South West London.
