Job Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Clinical Research Fellow to join our team at the Transformation Unit. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting a mixed methods evaluation of women who have sustained complications of polypropylene mesh, as well as an observational study investigating the potential cause of pain experienced by women following polypropylene mesh continence procedures.

The Clinical Research Fellow will work closely with a team of consultants and will be expected to respect the roles of others within a multidisciplinary team and communicate effectively with them.

Main Responsibilities
  • Conduct a mixed methods evaluation of women who have sustained complications of polypropylene mesh
  • Conduct an observational study investigating the potential cause of pain experienced by women following polypropylene mesh continence procedures
  • Work closely with a team of consultants to achieve project goals
  • Communicate effectively with team members and respect their roles within the multidisciplinary team
Requirements
  • Medical Degree
  • MRCOG Part 1
  • Completion of Foundation competencies (UK Foundation programme or demonstration of equivalent training)
  • Completion of all ST2 competencies as per RCOG Curriculum
  • Full registration with the General Medical Council and Licensed to Practice
  • Familiarity with UK health system and NHS
  • Basic Adult Life Support training within previous 12 months
  • MRCOG Part 2 & 3
  • At least 1 year experience working at middle grade (ST3+) in UK post
  • At least 2 years experience working in UK post
Desirable Qualifications
  • Distinctions or Prizes during undergraduate and/or postgraduate training
  • Research & Publications

The successful candidate will be expected to have appropriate UK professional registration and will be subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (Amendment) (England and Wales) Order 2020.
