As a Consultant Psychiatrist, you will be responsible for providing senior expertise in the assessment and treatment of adults over 65 years presenting cognitive impairment and comorbid conditions. You will work closely with the multidisciplinary team to provide high-quality care and support to patients and their families.

Key Responsibilities:

* Provide medical leadership to the multidisciplinary team
* Conduct assessments and develop treatment plans for patients
* Work closely with other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care
* Participate in clinical audits and quality improvement initiatives
* Contribute to the development of clinical guidelines and policies

Requirements:

* Registration with the GMC (or eligible to become registered) with a licence to practice
* Included on GMC Specialist Register or eligible for inclusion or included within six months of CCT
* Approved Clinician status OR able to achieve within 3 months of appointment
* Possess a CCT or (equivalence) in Old Age Psychiatry
* Postgraduate qualifications in a relevant field
* Has undergone training in educational supervision
* Has undergone training in appraisal
* Experience of multi-disciplinary team working
* Up to date knowledge and high level of clinical skills and competence in diagnosis and management of psychiatric disorders
* Experience of clinical audit
* Excellent teaching skills
* Demonstrate the ability to work in a time-efficient manner
* Able to meet the mobility requirements of the post
* An area of special interest relevant to the post as demonstrated by publications or presentations to learned societies
* Experience in multi-agency work especially with service users, carers, and voluntary agencies
* Established record of clinical leadership
* Established ability as a clinical teacher
* Training in specific and relevant treatment skills, e.g., a brief form of psychological therapy
* Experience in service management or development
