Job Description

Job Title: Maintenance Engineer - Electrical and Mechanical Systems

Reports to: Engineering Manager

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Maintenance Engineer to join our team at DFS Furniture Ltd. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our manufacturing sites by carrying out proactive maintenance tasks, reducing downtime, and improving machine efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Carry out proactive planned maintenance tasks without supervision
  • Complete reactive maintenance tasks without supervision
  • Carry out machine/equipment improvements to improve safety and/or efficiency
  • Implement minor or small electrical installation works without supervision
  • Ensure all tasks are risk assessed through site-specific or dynamic assessments
  • Administer work permits and monitor 3rd party contractors
  • Keep work areas clean and tidy at all times

Requirements:

  • 5+ years' experience in a maintenance role
  • Minimum NVQ Level 3 in Electrical or Mechanical and minimum level 2 in opposite discipline - HND preferred in main discipline
  • Must hold C&G Initial and periodic electrical inspection and testing
  • Strong knowledge of engineering concepts, including electrical, pneumatic, and mechanical systems
  • Adaptable and flexible
