About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Quantity Surveyor to join our Commercial Team at Persimmon Homes. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for managing all commercial and financial aspects of assigned rail projects and contracts.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage commercial and financial aspects of rail projects and contracts to ensure timely completion, within budget, and compliance with legal and quality assurance requirements.
  • Contribute to the management of legal and contractual issues to ensure profitability while adhering to Group guidelines.
  • Conduct timely studies to estimate materials, time, and labour costs to ensure costs are established and controlled.
  • Appoint and retain subcontractors, including sourcing and negotiation of contracts, to ensure resources are available to achieve build and quality targets.
  • Manage subcontractor performance against Group/Operating Company guidelines to ensure costs are controlled and projects complete on time, to the desired quality standards, and within budget.
  • Produce accurate and timely valuation reports and management information to enable the Commercial management team to make informed business decisions.
  • Advocate the Group Health, Safety, and Environment Policy while ensuring compliance throughout the team to ensure health and safety standards are met.
Requirements
  • Essential experience within the house building industry.
  • Understanding of HSE building regulations and legal guidelines.
  • Fully conversant with Microsoft Package, including Excel and Word.
  • Familiar with balance sheets, profit and loss accounts, and business plans.
