Rail - Project Quantity Surveyor

We are seeking a highly skilled Quantity Surveyor to join our Commercial Team, working on rail projects. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for managing all commercial and financial aspects of assigned projects and contracts.
Key Responsibilities- Manage commercial and financial aspects of rail projects, ensuring completion on time, within budget, and to legal and quality assurance requirements.
- Contribute to the management of legal and contractual issues to ensure profitability and compliance with Group guidelines.
- Conduct studies to estimate materials, time, and labour costs, ensuring costs are established and controlled.
- Appoint and retain subcontractors, sourcing and negotiating contracts to achieve build and quality targets.
- Manage subcontractor performance, ensuring costs are controlled and projects complete on time and to desired quality standards.
- Produce accurate and timely valuation reports and management information to inform business decisions.
- Advocate the Group Health, Safety, and Environment Policy, ensuring compliance throughout the team.
- Experience within the house building industry, with a strong understanding of HSE building regulations and legal guidelines.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Package, including Excel and Word.
- Understanding of balance sheets, profit and loss accounts, and business plans.
