About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Quantity Surveyor to join our Commercial Team, specializing in Rail Projects. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for managing all commercial and financial aspects of assigned projects and contracts, ensuring timely completion, within budget, and compliance with legal and quality assurance requirements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough studies to estimate materials, time, and labor costs, ensuring accurate cost control and project completion within budget.
  • Appoint and retain subcontractors, negotiating contracts to ensure resources are available to achieve build and quality targets.
  • Manage subcontractor performance, ensuring compliance with Group/Operating Company guidelines, and maintaining health and safety standards.
  • Produce timely and accurate valuation reports and management information to inform business decisions.
Requirements
  • Essential experience within the house building industry, with a strong understanding of HSE building regulations and legal guidelines.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Package, including Excel and Word, and a solid grasp of balance sheets, profit and loss accounts, and business plans.
