As a Finance Assistant at Optima Recruitment, you will be responsible for assisting all aspects of the finance function. This includes purchase and sales ledger duties, processing expenses, processing credit card transactions, managing purchase orders, cash book entries, and general administration duties.

Key Tasks
  • Process and pay expenses in a timely and accurate manner
  • Reconcile credit card transactions and manage purchase orders
  • Assist with the Purchase Ledger Function and reconcile supplier statements
  • Manage banking and cashiering duties, including cash book postings
  • Support the Fundraising Finance Lead with daily banking and processing
  • Raise Sales Ledger and Fundraising invoices
  • Monitor the accounts inbox and respond to supplier queries
  • Perform general bookkeeping and administrative duties
  • Assist with month-end journals and reconciliations
  • Manage paper filing and maintain accurate records
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • AAT part-qualification or equivalent experience
  • Experience in a similar role, ideally in accounts
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills, including Excel
  • Excellent organizational and prioritization skills, with the ability to work under pressure
  • Attention to detail and ability to work methodically
  • Intermediate Excel skills and experience with accounting software packages
