About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Building Surveyor to join our team at Gleeds. As a Senior Building Surveyor, you will be responsible for managing building surveying commissions, including surveys, dilapidation advice, party wall advice, and construction projects for new builds, renovations, and maintenance works.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support business unit directors in delivering business objectives
  • Engage with customers and develop, grow, and maintain customer relationships
  • Deliver high-quality services and ensure that building surveying deliverables meet customer requirements
  • Manage projects to deliver high-quality services and deliverables in accordance with business procedures
  • Manage building surveying commissions, including surveys, dilapidation advice, party wall advice, and construction projects for new builds, renovations, and maintenance works
  • Quality monitor construction projects
  • Plan service delivery in conjunction with the Director with overall responsibility for the project
  • Agree with the Director and client the right sub-consultants to assist with delivery of a commission
  • Communicate with and provide good sound professional advice to both clients and other project team members
  • Ensure that all quantitative and financial information has been independently checked before issue
  • Remain within the remit of your role and when additional responsibilities need to be carried out, conduct this in a fully informed manner with the approval of your line manager
  • Produce and present to customers
  • Mentor and coach employees to their full potential
  • Prepare bids for services
  • Manage services delivery for profit
  • Advise directors promptly of any issues that have arisen, or that might arise, on projects
  • Identify new business development opportunities and drive growth across the Business Unit activities

About You

We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Senior Building Surveyor who can join our team at Gleeds. The ideal candidate will have sound building surveying experience post MRICS qualification, with experience in delivering programmes of works and larger scale projects. They will also have a thorough knowledge of construction methods and materials, as well as a clear understanding of legislation impacting on building contracts.
