Penguin Recruitment is proud to partner with an award-winning, national, multi-disciplinary consultancy seeking a highly motivated Planning Director to join their esteemed Sheffield office.

This dynamic firm serves a wide region encompassing Yorkshire and The Humber, extending throughout the north of England. The Sheffield Office boasts a diverse team of Planners, Researchers, and Designers, fostering a collaborative environment that encourages cross-selling and knowledge sharing.

Your Role:

  • Lead and manage projects with expertise in both development management and development plan/policy work.
  • Spearhead major planning applications, appeals, Local Plan representations, site promotion, Local Plan Examinations, and public inquiry proceedings.
  • Provide visionary leadership and guidance to professional teams, fostering a culture of excellence and collaboration.
  • Cultivate strong relationships with stakeholders, ensuring effective communication and project success.
  • Drive business development initiatives by actively networking and expanding the firm's client base within key sectors.
  • Contribute to the financial and performance planning of the office, aligning with the company's strategic objectives.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Possess a postgraduate qualification in Planning and be a chartered member of the Royal Town Planning Institute (RTPI).
  • Demonstrate substantial professional experience, ideally within private sector consultancy or a combination of public sector and client-side roles.
