Job Summary:

Zodiac Recruitment is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Planning Director to lead our client's planning department in Sheffield. The successful candidate will be a strategic thinker, a strong leader, and a passionate advocate for urban planning excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the planning department, overseeing a team of planners and support staff.
  • Develop and implement strategic plans to drive business growth and achieve departmental goals.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with clients, stakeholders, and local authorities.
  • Provide expert advice on planning policies, regulations, and best practices.
  • Lead major planning projects from inception to completion, ensuring quality and compliance.
  • Mentor and coach staff, fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional development.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Urban Planning, Architecture, Geography, or related field.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in planning, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
  • Chartered Member of the Royal Town Planning Institute (RTPI) or equivalent professional accreditation.
  • Strong knowledge of UK planning policies, regulations, and procedures.
  • Strategic thinker with a track record of driving business growth and achieving results.
