Patient Transport Service Volunteer

About the Role
We are seeking dedicated and caring individuals to join our team as Patient Transport Service Volunteers. As a volunteer, you will play a vital role in helping NHS patients in your region by providing non-emergency transport to and from hospitals and other healthcare settings.
Main Responsibilities
- Provide non-emergency transport for patients who are able to walk but may need assistance and are eligible for transport.
- Transport patients to and from hospitals and other healthcare settings, including outpatient clinics, hospital wards, and life-saving treatments such as chemotherapy or renal dialysis.
- Work as part of a dedicated team to ensure patients receive the right response to their care needs as quickly as possible.
Requirements
- Be 18 years old or over.
- Hold a valid, full UK driving licence with no more than three penalty points.
- Have access to a car with four or more doors.
- Have access to the internet and email.
- Be willing to take part in all stages of the recruitment process.
- Be a good communicator.

- A mileage allowance of 45p per mile, with an additional 5p per mile allowance when transporting a patient.
