About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Specialist Psychiatrist in General Psychiatry. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality medical care to patients with mental health conditions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work closely with a large multi-disciplinary team managing secondary care patients with mental illness.
  • Provide medical support to the mental health team working under the supervision of a senior psychiatrist.
  • Manage clinical complexity and uncertainty, making decisions based on evidence and experience.
  • Meet duties under the Mental Health Act and Mental Capacity Act.
  • Work cooperatively as part of a team, delegate appropriately, and see tasks through to completion.

Requirements
  • Recognised basic Medical Degree.
  • Full GMC Registration with license to practice.
  • 4 years at full-time postgraduate training or higher or equivalent experience with at least 2 years in a specialty training programme in a relevant specialty.
  • Previous experience of working in psychiatry.
  • Excellent knowledge in specialty.
  • Excellent clinical skills using biopsychosocial perspective and wide medical knowledge.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in English.
  • Able to manage clinical complexity and uncertainty.
  • Makes decisions based on evidence and experience including the contribution of others.
  • Able to meet duties under MHA and MCA.
  • Able to work cooperatively as part of a team, delegate appropriately and see tasks through to completion.
