Role Overview
This position offers an exciting opportunity for a Team Leader within the Safeguarding Kingston Team. The ideal candidate will possess extensive management experience and a solid background in handling complex court cases. This role involves supporting the development and management of intricate cases while providing robust assistance to the team.
Key Responsibilities
The Team Leader will be responsible for:
- Delivering operational management and leadership across designated service areas, providing support to the Head of Safeguarding as necessary.
- Overseeing Senior Practitioners and Social Workers.
- Offering guidance and support within the Safeguarding Service.
Candidate Profile
The successful candidate will be dedicated to positively impacting the lives of children and young people, demonstrating the following qualifications:
- Extensive social work experience, particularly in safeguarding cases, including preparation and presentation of evidence in court.
- Proven experience in managing case workers who provide social work services to children, young people, and their families facing safeguarding challenges.
- Knowledge of permanency planning and the ability to support practitioners in developing comprehensive care plans for children.
- Experience in managing personnel, performance, and professional growth to optimize team effectiveness.
- Strong understanding of risk management and safeguarding within the social care framework, including relevant legislation, policies, and procedures.
Additional Information
Internal Transition: Start dates will be coordinated following the completion of all pre-transfer checks. Typically, transfer dates align with employee contracts unless an agreement is reached between the current and new line managers.
Pre-transfer Requirements: Internal transitions are contingent upon satisfactory reference checks.
Accessibility and Adjustments: We encourage internal candidates to communicate any reasonable adjustments needed to perform the role effectively. Current line managers will be asked to provide details regarding workplace adjustments to facilitate a smooth transition.
